Agnes passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025 with her family by her side. She was born to Cornelius and Mary Fast in Kindersley, Saskatchewan. She was raised on a farm and attended the Ebenfeld Mennonite Church where her dad was the pastor. She sang in the choir and upon confession of her faith was baptized at the age of eighteen. Her love of music continued throughout her life, and she enjoyed many years singing alto in the Lakeside Heights Baptist Church in Montreal.

Agnes started her education in a one-room country school (Mylrea) and completed her high school at Rosthern Junior College. She then followed her compassionate heart by receiving her RN at the Prince Albert School of Nursing. Her nursing career led her on many adventures, from working in Switzerland to working in ICU, Neurosurgery, and ER departments in several Montreal hospitals. She ended her career doing part time care with a community agency.

Agnes met Moin in Saskatoon and followed him to Montreal, where they were married on November 6, 1976. Their union was blessed with one very loved son, Saadi. Agnes and Moin traveled frequently to India to visit family, as well as visiting Pakistan and other European countries. They also graciously cared for several family members in their home.

Agnes was an elegant lady, and we often fondly referred to her as our “Queen”. She even had the noted hand wave. She would not hesitate to speak her mind but also listened well and loved to have fun and laugh. Her positive attitude remained in spite of her mental decline due to the cruel effects of dementia. Saadi and Mannie were the most caring and gracious caregivers as she spent her final years in the Sunrise of Dollard-des-Ormeaux facility. We thank the staff for their excellent care.

Agnes will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. She was predeceased by her husband, Moin Kermani, her parents Cornelius and Mary Fast and sister Elvera. She is survived by her son Saadi (Mannie), granddaughter Alysha, brother Henry (Martha), sister Hilda (Aaron) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Montreal.
