With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Alberto S. Ellson Sr., who left this world peacefully at 1 p.m. ET on January 20, 2026, in Montreal, Quebec.

We are deeply grateful to his devoted care team and to all the prayer warriors who surrounded him with love and comfort throughout his beautiful 87 years.

Born on July 8, 1938, in Manila, Philippines, our dad lived a life marked by curiosity, humour and music — always joking, always humming, always singing in that voice everyone loved and so often compared to Kenny Rogers.

He earned degrees in psychology and electrical engineering from the University of Santo Tomas and went on to shape young minds as a professor at the University of the Philippines, Samson College of Science and Technology and EARN Institute of Technology.

His career also took him abroad, where he served as head of the maintenance and engineering department at Dharan International Airport in Saudi Arabia and at the Sheraton Hotel Abu Dhabi. In 1996, he made Canada his home, later retiring from Sanmina Corp., leaving behind a legacy of dedication and professionalism wherever he worked.

Above all, he was a loving father and grandfather whose warmth filled every room. We will forever miss your beautiful smile, your gentle humour and your golden voice, Daddy — gifts that brought so much joy to everyone who knew you. Rest peacefully with Mommy now, Daddy.

If you are able, we kindly ask for your prayers and masses in his memory.
