It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mr. Alec Bretzel, on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the age of 59,

Beloved husband of Ady Martino and cherished father of Serge and Alexandra. Son of the late Mary Christodoulou Bretzel and the late Serge Bretzel. He will also be dearly missed by his parents-in-law Rosa and Peppino, his sister-in-law Enrica, his brother-in-law Gilles and his nieces Kayla and Amilia, as well as his extended family and friends.

Alec had many passions and interests, travel, airplanes, hiking, photography, cars, Scouting, filming all of his kids' sporting events. He loved the outdoors, being at the lake, and loved hiking and camping. One of his most memorable trips was his Yukon wilderness trip. He was so happy to take his family back in 2018. It was the highlight of the year. He travelled the world extensively, there was still so much left to see and visit. His true passion however was airplanes from a very young age. His career began at CAE, then Pratt & Whitney Canada, to finally land at Air Canada for his dream job. He loved what he did and was so proud to work there. But his greatest love was for his wife and family. He was a devoted husband to Ady and they both shared the same love of life. His children were his joys and he doted on them. He was always present for everything. His children call him the smartest, coolest dad who knows everything about everything. Alec was the most devoted and loving son, great son-in-law, brother-in-law, Uncle and friend, always there for you. We miss you already.

Visitation will be held at St.Nicholas Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 422, St-Joseph blvd West, Montreal, H2V2P5, on Thursday January 9, 2020 beginning at 5pm followed by the funeral Service at 6h30pm.
