<div itemprop="description">Ali Akbar Aftahi, 95, passed away peacefully overnight on June 29th, 2026, of old age. <br> <br>Ali Akbar will be lovingly remembered by his children, Vahid, Shiva, Mehdi, Sima; grandchildren, Nina, Reza, Ryan, Deon, Melina, Hana; children-in-law, whom he considered his own, Homayoon, Arash, Arghavan; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ashraf. <br> <br>Born to Abolghasem and Masoomeh in Tafresh, Iran, a small but cultured city he would carry with pride for the rest of his life, Ali Akbar grew up alongside his siblings, Zahra, Banoo, Mohammad and Hassan. As a teenager, he and his older brother moved to Tehran, where he joined the Iranian Air Force while pursuing his education. It was in Tehran that he met Ashraf, with whom he built a family and shared more than six decades of marriage. <br> <br>Ali Akbar went on to earn both his bachelor's and master's degrees in sociology from the University of Tehran. After his studies, he built a distinguished career with the Iran Insurance Company (Sherkat-e Bime), where he worked for nearly five decades. Even after retirement, he continued to share his expertise as a consultant. <br> <br>Ali Akbar also had a lifelong love of nature. He took great pride in maintaining a farm for much of his life and continued tending a garden well into his later years. He found joy in cultivating the land and sharing its fruits with those he loved. <br> <br>Above all else, Ali Akbar will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather. His kindness, strength, wisdom, and dedication to his family leave a lasting legacy for all who knew him. From humble beginnings, he built a life defined by hard work, perseverance, grit, and a devotion to those he loved. He lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind a family that will forever cherish his memory. <br> <br>A visitation to celebrate Ali Akbar’s life will be held at [10:30 am ] on Saturday, July 11th, 2026, at the Rideau Funeral Home & Cemetery located at 4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard-Des Ormeaux, Quebec. A funeral and burial will be immediately followed at [12:30 PM] at the same location. <br> <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you donate to Hope for Dementia, in his loving memory. <br> <br> <br> <br>***************** <br> <br> <br>علیاکبر افتحی، در سن ۹۵ سالگی، در صبح ۲۹ ژوئن ۲۰۲۶، در آرامش و به علت کهولت سن، چشم از جهان فروبست. <br> <br>یاد و خاطرهٔ علی اکبر با عشق در دل فرزندانش، وحید، شیوا، مهدی و سیما؛ نوههایش، نینا، رضا، رایان، دیان، ملینا و حنا؛ عروس و دامادهایش، همایون، آرش و ارغوان، که آنان را همچون فرزندان خود دوست میداشت؛ و همچنین خواهرزاده ها و برادر زادهایش و سایر بستگان و دوستان، برای همیشه زنده خواهد ماند. او پیش از این، همسر عزیزش اشرف را که ۶۱ سال در کنار یکدیگر زندگی مشترک داشتند، از دست داده بود. <br> <br>علی اکبر در شهر تفرش، ایران، از پدر و مادر: ابولقاسم و معصومه دیده به جهان گشود؛ شهری مهد علم و فرهنگ که تا پایان عمر با افتخار از آن یاد میکرد. او دوران کودکی خود را در کنار خواهران و برادران : زهرا، بانو، محمد و حسن سپری کرد. در سالهای نوجوانی، همراه برادرش محمد به تهران رفت و ضمن ادامهٔ تحصیل، به نیروی هوایی ایران پیوست. در تهران بود که با اشرف آشنا شد؛ همراه و همسفری که بیش از شش دهه زندگی مشترک، خانوادهای سرشار از عشق و مهر را در کنار او بنا نهاد <br> <br>علیاکبر مدرک کارشناسی و سپس کارشناسی ارشد خود را در رشتهٔ جامعهشناسی از دانشگاه تهران دریافت کرد. پس از پایان تحصیلات، نزدیک به پنج دهه از عمر حرفهای خود را در شرکت سهامی بیمه ایران سپری کرد و با تعهد، صداقت و تخصص، جایگاهی ارزشمند در این مجموعه به دست آورد. حتی پس از بازنشستگی نیز دانش و تجربهٔ خود را در مقام مشاوره و نمایندگی در اختیار دیگران قرار میداد. <br> <br>علیاکبر در تمام طول زندگی، عشق عمیقی به طبیعت داشت. سالهای بسیاری با افتخار به نگهداری از مزرعهٔ خود پرداخت و تا واپسین سالهای عمر نیز با عشق و علاقه از باغچهاش مراقبت میکرد. او آرامش و شادی را در پرورش زمین و تقسیم ثمرهٔ آن با خانواده و دوستانش مییافت. <br> <br>بیش از هر چیز، علیاکبر به عنوان همسری وفادار، پدری مهربان و پدربزرگی دلسوز،دایی و عمویی که تکیه گاهی مطمعن و الگویی از محبت، اخلاق و انسانیت بود؛ در یادها خواهد ماند. مهربانی، استواری، خرد، و عشق بیدریغ او به خانواده، میراثی ماندگار برای همهٔ کسانی است که افتخار شناختنش را داشتند. او از آغازهایی ساده، با تلاش، پشتکار، استقامت و فداکاری، زندگیای سرشار از معنا و افتخار ساخت و خانوادهای را بر جای گذاشت که تا همیشه یاد و خاطرهاش را گرامی خواهند داشت. <br> <br>مراسم دیدار و بزرگداشت یاد و خاطرهٔ زندهیاد علیاکبر افتحی روز شنبه [۱۱] ژوئیهٔ ۲۰۲۶، ساع۱۰:۳۰ صبح در مجموعهٔ Rideau Funeral Home & Cemetery، واقع در 4275 Sources Blvd، Dollard-des-Ormeaux، استان کبک، برگزار خواهد شد. مراسم تشییع و خاکسپاری نیز بلافاصله پس از آن، در ساعت [۱۲:۳۰] بعدازظهر، در همان محل انجام خواهد شد. <br> <br>خانواده، به جای ارسال گل، از شما صمیمانه درخواست میکنند در صورت تمایل، به یاد و خاطرهٔ عزیزشان، کمک مالی اهدا فرماییید <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you donate to Hope for Dementia, in his loving memory.</div>
