It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Pompura (née Chabala) on July 5, 2026 in her 90th year.
She was predeceased in 2014 by her husband of 60 years, Charlie; and in 2017 by her youngest daughter Carolyn (Samir).
She will be greatly missed by her son Charlie (Shirley), daughter Annie (Harold), grandchildren Samy and Soufia, nephew Steve, nieces Janet and Marina, and many other close family members and friends.
Born and raised in Montreal, Ann lived there for most of her life before moving to Toronto five years ago to make her home with her son and daughter-in-law.
Ann will be remembered for her remarkable strength, quiet grace, and unfailing optimism. Her warmth, resilience, and loving spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished always.
Visitation will take place at Rideau Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4275 boul des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, 514-685-3344, on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A funeral Service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Saturday, July 18 at 11 a.m. followed by interment at the funeral home cemetery.
