At Pavillion Camille-Lefebvre, Lachine, on February 23, 2024 at the age of 98.

Beloved wife of Walter Frederick “Wally” Lambert and loving mother to Robert “Bob” and Sandra.
Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A devoted wife and mother, Irene was also a dedicated volunteer in the community of Lachine-Dorval
where she lived for over 70 years. She was a Commissioner in the Girl Guides of Canada, a member of
the Lachine General Hospital’s Auxiliary, a member of the altar guild of All Saints by the Lake Church,
and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.

Irene was a music-lover, a nature enthusiast and, in her later years, a whiz at crossword puzzles. She
loved line dancing, playing the piano, bird-watching, good books and the company of friends.

Wally was the love of Irene’s life and they could frequently be seen walking hand-in-hand along
Lakeshore Boulevard. Irene also had a gift for making and keeping friends. She cherished both the
friends she’d had from girlhood and the many new ones she made during her lifetime. She will be missed by
the friends and neighbors who meant so much to her in her final years.

Special thanks to her neighbor, Larisa Castro, for her loyal friendship and compassionate care.
Thank you to the staff at the Jewish General Hospital, especially in the geriatric wards D6 and C6, for
their exceptional care and support during her long stay. Thank you also to the kind and caring staff at
the Pavillon Camille-Lefebvre for making her last weeks as comfortable as possible.

Irene was a radiant spirit. Her warmth, wit and beauty will be missed by all who knew her.

A service to celebrate Irene’s life will be held at All Saints Church by the Lake at a later date.
Donations in Irene’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
