She was a leader for the Pioneer Girls in her early days as well as Youth Sponsors with her husband Ray in the teen ministry and then with the young adults. She sang in the church choir, especially for the Christmas cantatas and was always a helpful hand with church events and luncheons. Audrey had a passion for interior decorating and was eager to help decorate the church for special events, particularly Thanksgiving where she would set up a beautiful display of bounty at the front of the church and the food would all go to those in need shortly after the Thanksgiving service.

Audrey had a flare for life. She made friends easily and was a friend to many, especially those who struggled with depression and needed encouragement. She always had a listening ear and words of wisdom to share.
During her lifetime, she would travel to all kinds of places with Ray, including England, Mexico and several provinces across Canada. They always had a road trip planned for their summer vacations.
Her family was very close at heart. She loved family gatherings and would drive with Ray for miles to Ontario to join in with the Greenway family celebrations. Every Christmas, she and Ray would open their home up to those who would otherwise be alone on December 25th and everyone would enjoy a beautiful table, lots of great food and festive decorations.

As a child, she grew up in Crawford Park on Clemenceau Street in a third floor flat with her parents and five siblings. Audrey met her husband Ray and married in October of 1960. She later worked for F.B.Allen as a receptionist before she went on the have her two daughters and became a homemaker.

A celebration of Audrey’s life will be held on Saturday, May 20th 2023 at Onward Gospel Church – 165 Galt Ave, Verdun, Quebec.
