Our family is heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Barbara Ann Pearl (Nee Patterson) Kiley on December 29th, 2025 at the age of 78.
Survived by her 3 children; Leona (Ray), Wendy(Real) and Christopher(Ananke), her grandchildren, Shannon, Ryan and Rachael as well as her step-father Howard, her sister Ann (John), her brothers Myles and James and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Elmer Patterson and her loving husband of 53 years Ronald Joseph Kiley.
Born in Gaspé, Quebec in 1947, in a close- knit rural town, Barbara grew to be a spunky young woman ready to forge her way in the world. She left home and arrived in Montreal the day she turned 18. There, she met and later married her husband, beginning her life as a wife and mother.
Barbara was a strong but generous person, devoted to her faith in Christ and dedicated to her family. She briefly taught religion and started a lunch program in the elementary school her children attended. She volunteered in all her children’s sports. She was soccer coach and a Girl Guide leader when her daughters were young and a DDO hockey convenor when her son was playing. She attended every school event and activity for her grandchildren and supported everything they did. Any small deed was met with praise. She spoke with her loved ones daily. Her greatest gift was the tight bond she maintained with her family through all the changes in our lives over the years. She truly nurtured the best in all of us.
As a woman, Barbara was outspoken and frank. As a mother and grandmother, that fierce spirit fueled her love and strong family values. Her generosity throughout her life was immeasurable, whether through donations, volunteering or support of her family, Barbara was always happy to thoughtfully share what she had with those around her. She will be greatly missed at our family table.
We request that in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the heart and stroke foundation or any charity of your choice in her name.
