It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Sherrard. She leaves behind her partner for 65 years, Hank, and their children, Brenda and Larry (Shirley), and her much loved grandchildren, Connor, Samantha and Cameron. She is survived by one brother, Edsel, in Truro, N.S. She will also be much missed by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty was a good bowler and an excellent bridge player and enjoyed and had fun with the friends with whom she played. She enjoyed friends/neighbours and their teatimes and “Auntie Betty” always had chocolate-chip cookies for the kids who played on our lawn after school. She really enjoyed watching Sidney Crosby play hockey and dressing up for Halloween.
Her big adventure was living three years in Malaysia and touring about eight European countries on the trip back to Canada. She was still in contact with Canadians who were friends in Malaysia.
Her life will be commemorated at the Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd. DDO on June 28, 2025 with a visitation from 2:00 P.M.; a service at 3:00 P.M., followed by a period of remembrances, sociality and refreshments.
