<div itemprop="description">Bidarur Narayana Subba-Rao, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully at Lakeshore General Hospital on May 6, 2026 at the age of 93. <br> <br>“Subba-Rao” was born in the village of Konanur, Karnataka, India in 1933. After his M.Sc. (Honours) in Physics, he was selected for a research career at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Bombay, where he concurrently undertook studies and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Bombay. Thirst for knowledge led to completing postdoc at Upsala University in Sweden, and as research scientist at Vanderbilt University. In 1976 he emigrated to Canada with his wife and son, to assume a research position at McGill University followed by teaching positions at Dawson College. <br> <br>He is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Saroja; son Prasanna, daughter-in-law Seema, grandsons Milan, Niam, and numerous other family members. <br> <br>A Hindu funeral service will be held at Rideau Funeral Home, located at 4275 Sources Boulevard, Dollard-des-Ormeaux (Quebec) H9B 2A6, on Sunday May 10, from 9am - 11am.</div>
