Blossom Bromfield, born on March 6, 1939, passed peacefully in the early morning of January 22, 2026, at the age of 86.
A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, caregiver and cherished friend, Blossom lived a life defined by faith, hard work, and selfless love. She was the proud mother of six children, including one daughter who predeceased her.
Around 1980, Blossom migrated to Canada, where she worked tirelessly to build a new life while supporting her family back home in Jamaica. Despite working day and night, she remained deeply devoted to her family, her church, and her community.
Known for her calm presence, quiet strength, and generosity of spirit, Blossom touched countless lives. As a nanny, she formed lifelong bonds with the children she cared for, remaining an honored presence in their adult lives and a grandmother figure to their children.
She had a remarkable ability to love deeply and equally, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her impact was lasting, and her legacy will live on through the many lives she shaped.
Blossom is survived by her loving children Deon Peart, Dwight Peart, Richard Peart, Garfield Salmon, and Fitzgerald Salmon; her siblings Pearl Bromfield and Melvin Bromfield; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; as well as 3 nieces and 3 nephews, all of whom loved her dearly.
Many thanks to the amazing team at CHUM palliative care for ensuring her comfort and excellent care during her final days. As well as Rideau Funeral home for the smooth process and great care before her cremation.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on February 21st 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at West Island United Pentecostal Church, 393 Saint-Louis Avenue, Pointe-Claire.
Please join us after the ceremony for refreshments in the church hall.
