Carrie Favreau (Hemeon)
July 8, 1929 – November 12, 2025
It is with very heavy hearts that the family of the late Carrie Favreau announce her peaceful passing at Ste Anne’s Veterans Hospital, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Qc on November 12th, 2025, at the age of 96 years, with her daughter by her side.
Carrie leaves to mourn her devoted daughter Denise (Réal Du Temple), her precious grandchildren Zachary and Joshua, her sister Trixie Martyn of Surrey, B.C., her sister-in-law Nancy Hemeon of Botwood, NL, as well as her cherished nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Carrie is predeceased by her beloved husband Jacques (Jack); parents George and Mary (Hoddinott) Hemeon; brothers, Wilson, Ted, Scott, Reg and George; sisters, Eleanor, Margaret and Netta.
Carrie was born and raised in Botwood, NL, and if the “truth be told” her heart never left there. In the early 1960’s Carrie spent a few years living and working in Montréal Qc. She then relocated back to Newfoundland where she married the love of her life, Jack. They settled down in the town of Appleton, NL and lived there for over 40 years where they owned and operated a restaurant and raised their daughter Denise.
Following Jack’s passing in 2009, Carrie moved to Saint Lazare, Qc to live with her daughter and son-in-law and to be close to her grandchildren whom she was so proud of and loved dearly. Spending time with her family was Carrie’s greatest passion.
Carrie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt as well as a cherished friend to many. She will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and her great sense of humor. Anyone fortunate enough to know her could not help but love her. Carrie’s faith in God was unwavering and was evident in how she lived her life.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Piché and the dedicated nurses, PAB’s and support staff of Ste Anne’s Veterans Hospital, 6Th floor for their exceptional care and kindness they provided to Carrie during her residency.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Botwood, NL at a later date. Following this, Carrie will be laid to rest with her husband in Valleyfield, Qc as per her wishes.
