We are deeply saddened on the passing of our “Chantal” on Thursday July 8, 2021 at the age of 61 after a courageous 6-year battle with breast cancer. Loving wife of 39 years (and together for 47 years) to Alfredo Espinosa, devoted mother to Joseph Francis (Laila) and John Alexander, daughter of the late Marguerite Laporte-Sevigny, step-daughter of Claude Sevigny, step sibling to Daniel (Lucy) and Ghislain.

From her mother’s side, Chantal is sadly mourned by her surviving aunts Claudette and Yolande, her uncle Richard, cousins, nephews and nieces.

An adored member of the Espinosa Family, she also leaves behind her mother-in law Consuelo “Kit” Espinosa, her many sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews as well as relatives and friends from across the globe, including those she had recently met in the Philippines, a country she had grown to cherish and love and looked forward to discovering more.

She will also be dearly missed by her many friends and colleagues especially those from the Filipino community of Montreal. With her unselfish involvement, dedication, boundless positivity and encouragement, she touched and inspired the lives of many, making them part of her enduring legacy. Perhaps, what we would miss and remember the most is her lovely, charming, light up the room sunburst of a beautiful smile.
She made it abundantly clear that we acknowledge with immense gratitude the outstanding caring staff at the Jewish General Hospital especially those of the 8 North West Wing.

A funeral service will be held at St. John Brebeuf Parish, 7777 George St. LaSalle, QC on Friday July 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m (parking entrance on George St.).

Due to COVID restrictions, the Parish will only be able to accommodate a maximum of 130 attendees with strict adherence to the appropriate COVID guidelines as specified by the Government of Quebec.

----
