It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Christos Georgiopoulos, who peacefully left us on January 20, 2026.
Born on December 20, 1933, in Meropi, Messinias, Christos was the beloved husband of Vasiliki Trifonopoulos for 61 years. He was an exceptional father to Constantinos, Demetra, and George; dearly loved his son-in-law, Christos; and a devoted grandfather to Panayiotis, Katerina and her spouse Christos; as well as a dear relative and friend to many.
Known as a pillar of strength, Christos’ resilience, generosity, and positive outlook on life quietly touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be remembered with eternal love, deep gratitude, and profound respect.
The family is eternally grateful to the Cedars Centre, the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence, and all the doctors and healthcare professionals who cared for him.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Christos Georgiopoulos may be made to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence: https://residencesoinspalliatifs.ca/
The family will receive relatives and friends at Rideau Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 28, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The church service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church followed by burial at Rideau Cemetery.
