Darius came into the world as the most valuable gift to me. March 31, 1999 was the day the most generous and loving being came into my life. His mother (me) Roxanne Brown gave birth to Darius Jayden Brown two weeks after her birthday.
His love for his younger sisters Zariah and Jirney was strong, although he had to leave them in the physical world. He respected his parents Roxanne and Stephen Hennessy. Darius was like most teenage boys; he always loved to have a good time, laugh, listen tomusic and make jokes as well as play basketball. The love of his life is Marlene Bayley Brown; his grandmother. His empathy and sympathy were matched by none. His life started in Ontario as he was born in Ottawa, then moved with his Mother to Toronto to live with his Aunt Diane & same age cousin Tylene. He was loved in his neighbourhood, and he made bonds that will last our life times.

Darius relocated with his mother back to her roots in Montreal when his mother married Stephen Hennessy. He blessed St. Monica elementary school with his presence where he made friendships that have lasted until today. He moved onto High school at Lakeside Academy after many open Houses and discussions about what is the best for him. After a few parent teacher meetings his parents realized this school would be the best place for him. Many of his teachers loved him, this proved to be true through the many emails and discussions with his teachers who exhausted their efforts to assist him. Darius continued to pursue his academics as he moved on to Horizons and adopted another addition to his family. He impacted the students and faculty in ways no one could imagine. Living in NDG, Darius attracted the most wonderful young men and women the planet has to offer. Darius was an active member at local community centers, namely Westhaven, where both his parents were involved. He participated in the afterschool program while in elementary, summer camp (as a camper and then a CIT) and later the teen program. He was also a part of Westhaven’s basketball team and was admired by his teammates. He recently started coaching basketball for younger children and took care of the center’s turtle with love and thorough care. Although he has left us and gone home, we feel him everyday when we take the 123 to Lasalle, 495 to Lachine, walk through Coffee Park or travel by foot to Westminister road where he walked his last mortal step from us to his home in Heaven November 17, 2016.
