<div itemprop="description">David or DJ as he was known to many, passed away on Tuesday December 27th 2017, after a short battle with illness. DJ was a beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend, and Comedian. He was predeceased by his father John McCarthey and mother Jean McQueenie. He is survived by his brother Stewart (Bernadette), Brian (Theresa), niece Sarah, nephew and friend Matthew. His spirit will forever be embedded in those who knew him well. A celebration of his life will be held at Rideau Funeral Home on Monday January 9th 2017 at 6pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund.</div>
