<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that the family of David Carmichael Leith of Pointe-des-Cascades announce his passing on February 8th at the age of 79, after a brief yet courageous battle with cancer. David was surrounded by his loved ones who will continue to honour his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. <br> <br>Born as the oldest child in Brighton, England in 1944 to Constance Hollands and Henry Leith, David immigrated to Montreal as a young child at the end of World War II. In his twenties, he met his loving wife Louise and soon started a family. They had three children, daughters Tracy-Ann and Alexandra and son, Anthony. He embarked on his career at Bell Canada (Nortel) and retired in 1996 after 31 years of dedicated service. <br> <br>He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Catherine; his children Tracy-Ann, Alexandra (Sandro), and Anthony (Denise); grandchildren Gabrielle, Quin, Luca, and Giordano; his sister Sandra and brother Malcolm; the members of his late wife’s family, the Julien family of Hawkesbury, Ontario; his cousins in England, Jackie, Pauline, and Gerald; as well as numerous relatives and friends. <br> <br>David was predeceased by his parents Constance and Henry Leith; as well as Louise, his loving wife of 43 years. <br> <br>David’s hobbies included golfing, curling, woodworking and travelling. He enjoyed playing golf with his longtime friends Rose and Robert Fournier, Dorothy and Yves Gauthier, Claire and Bob Burns and Rita (Bob) Davis. He was a former member of the Pointe-Claire Curling Club and Hudson Legion Curling Club. He was also an active member and past president of the West Island Wood Turners Association. <br> <br>The family will receive condolences at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, Quebec on Sunday, February 25th from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. <br> <br>Funeral services will take place at St-Edmund of Canterbury church, 105 Beaconsfield Blvd, Beaconsfield, QC on Monday, February 26 at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations made to Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. <br></div>
