<div itemprop="description">David Powell, passed away unexpectedly at home in Dollard des Ormeaux, on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 79 years of age. <br> <br>He will be missed by his beloved wife Cheryl, his daughters Kim, Michelle (Eric), and Kristy (Craig), as well as with his grandchildren Zoë, Joëlle, David, and Charlie, his sister Anne (Tony), and extended family and friends. David joins his parents Gertrude and John, and sister Jacqueline. <br> <br>David was born in Eastbourne, England, during World War II. His family moved to Canada in May, 1956 and settled in Montreal. He met Cheryl at the tender age of 19, making them 60-year soul mates. His working life was spent at Hewitt Equipment (now Toromont) where he had many colleagues as friends. <br> <br>Throughout his life, David enjoyed reading, golf, skiing, traveling and spending time at their cottage in Malone, NY. His creative hobbies included carving birds and writing. We are left with cherished memories of David; husband, father, brother, friend, and neighbour. <br> <br>The family will receive condolences at Rideau Funeral home, 4275 des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux on Saturday March 30 from 11:00 am, followed by the memorial service at noon. <br> <br>David’s ashes will be buried at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 701 Donegani, Pointe-Claire at 2:30 pm. <br></div>
