It is with great sadness that after a brief illness, we announce the passing of Denis Lafleur on Friday, Jan
23, 2026, at the age of 91.
He was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Roseanne. He will be
greatly missed by his children, Normand (Kerry), Patrick (Bridget) and Denyse (Terry) and by his
grandchildren, Michaela (Mats) and Kelsey (Maggie), and by his great-grandson, Ryder. He leaves behind
many brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Denis served for 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and 18 years at Air Canada, where he worked at
the power plant division. He loved going to Tim Hortons twice a day, followed by a visit to his son
Norm’s garage, where you could set your watch by his military punctuality! Denis also volunteered for
Elections Canada.
We would like to express our gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the CHUM, Ste. Anne’s Hospital, and
the Lakeshore General Hospital where he received excellent care.
A special thank you to the people who took the time to facilitate and enrich his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to donate to the charity of your choice.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Rideau Funeral Home located at 4275
Sources Blvd. A private burial will take place at a later date.
