Denise Strutynski (Tellier) passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28th at Le Felix in Vaudreuil-Dorion at the age of ninety. She was born and grew up in Trois Rivieres where she met her husband, Joseph, in 1954. Three months later they married and spent over sixty-four years together raising their family. They had three children: Joanne, John (Sally), and Michael (Myriam). She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Joey, Lori-Anne, and Christina Strutynski, as well as her two great-grandsons Daniel Joseph and Cole Everett Strutynski. She is also survived by her brother, Jules, and brother-in- law, Claude Arsenault.

She is predeceased by her parents, Ludger Tellier and Rosa (Thibault) as well as her sisters: Madeleine (Bourque), Therese (Journeaux), Celine (Arsenault), and Monique Tellier.

Denise was devoted to her family and enjoyed many happy hours cooking, baking, entertaining, and playing cards. She was also dedicated to her job as head nurse on the seventh floor of Ste. Anne de Bellevue Veteran’s Hospital.

After their retirement, Joseph and Denise enjoyed travelling to Florida every winter in their motorhome. There, they spent time walking, going for bike rides, visiting flea markets, and Denise had fun learning how to do arts and crafts. They even made a trip across Canada into Alaska which, for them, was their most memorable trip ever.

Denise always had a very positive outlook on life and brightened everyone’s day with her ready smile and caring ways. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. The Strutynski family would especially like to thank the staff at The Signature for the excellent care and love they gave Denise during her years there. Their kindness gave Denise and her family great comfort.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Rideau Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at St. Thomas a Becket church on Wednesday, April 3rd at 11:a.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Parkinson Canada.
