It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Koklas, who peacefully left us on June 17, 2026, at the age of 63.
Dennis was the beloved husband of Matina Vlahakis, his devoted partner in life and love, with whom he shared many cherished years and countless treasured memories.
He leaves behind his two beloved sons, Christopher (Yasmine) and Michael (Alessia), who were the pride and joy of his life.
He will also be deeply missed by his loving parents, Anastasios and Chrysoula; his brother, Foti (Gemma); his parents-in-law, Panagiotis and Katina; his brother-in-law, John (Betty); his nephews, Anastasios and Jesse; his niece, Eva; and his goddaughters, Chrysanthi and Dana. He also leaves behind many cherished relatives and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
Dennis will be remembered for his humility, kindness, and quiet strength. Gentle and unassuming by nature, he never sought recognition, yet he was always there for those who needed him. A natural mentor, he took great pride in helping others grow and succeed, generously sharing his knowledge, experience, and encouragement. His generosity, compassion, and unwavering support touched the lives of many. He had a remarkable ability to make others feel heard, valued, and cared for, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love, dignity, and selflessness.
The family will receive condolences at Rideau Funeral Home (4275 Sources Blvd., Dollard-des-Ormeaux) on Monday, June 22, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at Saint Constantine and Helen Church (20 Blvd Brunswick, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC H9B 2N8) on Tuesday, June 23, at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Mount Royal Cemetery (1297 Chemin de la Forêt, Outremont, QC H2V 2P9).
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of the Cedars Cancer Centre and the Internal Medicine team at the Royal Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care, support, and kindness throughout this difficult journey.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dennis to the Cedars Cancer Centre Foundation (donatecedars.ca) would be sincerely appreciated as an expression of sympathy.
