It is with a heavy heart and the deepest sadness that the family of Domenica Altieri Gentile announces her passing on December 30, 2023 at the age of one-hundred.
Domenica was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Gentile and the mother of Mario Giuseppe (Lynn) Gentile and Luigi (Elise) Gentile. Grand-mother, or Nonna, to Chiara (Kris), Jordan (Sabrina), Nicholas, Christina and Anthony (Holly) as well as the great-grand-mother to Leo, Knox and Oliver. She was loved and supported by her friends, family and extended family over the many years she lived in Montreal and she truly had a lasting impact on all of those that she met.
Domenica was known to leave everyone around her laughing, smiling and of course with full stomachs from her classic Italian cooking. To her final days, Domenica lived an independent and happy life, always concerned with how everyone around her was doing and recognizing the support and love that she was so fortunate to have.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church of Montreal.
The family will be receiving condolences January 11 from 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm at Rideau Funeral Home (4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard-Des Ormeaux, Quebec H9B 2A6). The funeral service will be held January 12 at 11am at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church of Montreal at 555-575, rue Jean-Talon Est Montreal (Quebec) H2R 1T8.
