<div itemprop="description">With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donald Ross Cheeseman, who passed peacefully in his sleep at Verdun Hospital, just six weeks before his 93rd birthday. <br> <br>Born in Montreal West to Ernest and Lilian (Hastie) Cheeseman, Donald lived in Montreal West until his marriage in 1964, after which he and his beloved wife, Cheryl, made their home in Beaconsfield for 45 years. <br> <br>Donald enjoyed a 25-year career with CP Rail as a Systems Analyst. Outside of work, his passions included playing classical piano and gardening. He had a deep love of animals and, above all, was a devoted and dedicated husband and father. <br> <br>Donald was a true gentleman, kind, warm, gentle, and compassionate. He saw the good in everyone and never had an unkind word to say about anyone. His quiet kindness and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew him. <br> <br>Donald was predeceased by the love of his life, Cheryl Maureen Cheeseman (née Jacobs), his beloved wife of 62 years. <br> <br>He will be lovingly remembered by his children; Ian Michael and Karen Marie (Gary Potter); his grandchildren; Michelle, Rachel and Ian, his niece and caregiver; Lynda Grace (Carl Gendron), his niece; Susan Lee (Haig Dedeyan), his brother-in-law; James Wong, his long-time friends; Corbet (Julius) and Lorraine Jones (Dupling); Richard and Sheila Hébert; Eileen and the Strackers; as well as many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. <br> <br>Donald leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, kindness, family, and friendship. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. <br></div>
