It is with much sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Doris Beauregard at the age of 93 in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Lakeshore Hospital in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. Daughter of Alexander Kostiuk and Dina Dorn. Survived by her sister Genevieve and her sister-in-law Lucille of Ottawa. Pre-deceased by her sisters Eva and Ruth, and her brother Ivan. Beloved wife of the late Roger Beauregard. Loving mother of Diane (Earl), Marc (Paula), Cynthia (Jim), and Andre. She was also the grandmother of Patrick, Raymond, Maryse, Greg, and Jarret, and the great-grandmother of Nolan. She was also an aunt to many nieces and nephews in Montreal, Ottawa, Manitoba, and British Columbia.
.
She was born in Ebor, Manitoba a short time after the end of World War I, lived through the Great Depression, grew up in Redvers, Saskatchewan, moved to Vancouver to find work during the Second World War, married in Ottawa in 1950, started a family in Sherbrooke, raised four children in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, survived the Ice Storm, was puzzled by the Internet, didn't understand electric cars or mobile phones, and yet did everything with a sense of dignity and grace we can only hope to emulate.

In addition to being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mom was a long-time member of the Dollard Mixed Bowling League, and the Pierrefonds Lawn Bowling Club. She liked nothing more than pulling dandelions in May, growing rhubarb in the summer, tending to her tomatoes in August, taking us to Westpark Pool for swimming lessons, and bowling at Laurentian Lanes on Friday evenings. She listened to Expos games on the radio with Dave Van Horne and Duke Snider - even though she was a Dodgers fan because she heard Vin Scully late at night when we lived in Sherbrooke. She enjoyed collecting Aislin cartoons - she has nearly every cartoon ever drawn, watching curling on TSN, baking an apple pie on Sunday mornings, having orange juice, corn flakes, toast, and a cup of coffee for breakfast, doing crossword puzzles in the morning, and watching CNN in the afternoon while her dog Bailey slept quietly beside her. She learned to drive at age 68, and would venture to her local supermarket every Wednesday to get her groceries. She looked forward each week to playing whist on Monday evenings and darts every Thursday. She liked to sip her cup of tea after supper while watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and trying to figure out how to change channels with the remote control. And right up to the very, very end, she never, never, ever stopped worrying about her entire family.

The family will receive condolences at Rideau Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home (4275 boul. des Sources, DDO) on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 13:00-15:00.

A private family burial will take place in September at the Field of Honour in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, where Mom will be buried beside Dad. Together again at long last.

Many thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff on the 4th floor North at the Lakeshore Hospital for their caring and comfort during Mom's last days.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, or the charity of your choice.

We will miss you terribly, but take comfort in knowing that you are reunited at last with your beloved husband for the rest of eternity. You are finally resting in peace. We love you Mom. One evening very soon, we will raise a glass of sherry in your honour. Maybe a glass of rye and ginger ale too. You will remain in our thoughts and prayers forever, and we will never forget you.

Condolences may be sent to dorisinabeauregard@gmail.com
