It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Prof. Arvind Sharma, Birks Professor of Comparative Religion in the School of Religious Studies at McGill University.

Dr. Sharma was an extraordinary teacher, academic, colleague, and friend.

He was a prolific writer and promoted areas of study previously neglected such as women in world religions, first nations, and particularly in understanding ‘other faiths’ rather than being suspicious of them.

He will be greatly missed.
