It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Eadie, who departed this life peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the age of 89. He was surrounded by loved ones at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Pointe-Claire, Quebec.
Born in Kitty, Georgetown, Guyana, Edward was a man of great warmth, wisdom, and generosity. He was the beloved husband of the late Joycelyn Eadie, and a devoted father to Jennifer, Pamela, Catherine, Brian, Richard, Christopher, and Natasha. His legacy continues through his many grandchildren—Romelia, Ryan, Candice, Waveney, Janae, Cursti, Benjamin, Ayesha, Jenel, Denzel, Jaden, Faith, Faizal, Khalil, and Malakhai—and great-grandchildren—Mercedes, Malcolm, Marcus, Genivah, Shianne, Saleena, Shakur, Samiya, Savanna, Ashanti, Josiah, Jabar, and Royal. He is predeceased by his grandchildren Justin and Wray and remembered with love by his sister Mildred Romeo, his cherished niece Roseanne, and a wide circle of friends.
Edward lived a full and vibrant life, marked by kindness, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to his family and community. Edward embraced his entrepreneurial spirit and a generous soul; he was known for opening his home and heart to those in need. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with stories, wisdom, and unconditional love.
He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and strength that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Edward’s life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Rideau Funeral Home in Dollard-des-Ormeaux. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and honor the memory of a truly remarkable man.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, a cause close to Edward’s heart.
May his memory be a blessing, and may his spirit continue to guide and inspire laughter in us all.
