It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eddy Amano. Eddy passed away peacefully on Saturday January 6th, 2024 at the Royal Victoria Hospital at the age of 69.
Eddy, son of Torateru Amano, is survived by his loving wife Cathy O’Connor, daughters Rachel (Michael Bussey) and Louise (James Bennett), and grandchildren William, Emma and James. Eddy will be missed by his brothers Richard and Peter, nieces, nephews and many family members and friends.
With a distinguished career in the Elevator industry and countless hours as a volunteer swimming official, Eddy’s wisdom, love and generosity has touched many lives. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the doctors and nursing staff of the Royal Victoria hospital for their exceptional care and support during Eddy’s battle against myelofibrosis.
Visitation will be held on Friday January 26th from 7pm to 9pm, and Saturday January 27th from 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm (reception to follow) at Rideau Funeral home, 4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Québec H9B2A6.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be sent to the Cedars Cancer Foundation (cedars.ca) in his memory. Please also consider a blood donation to HEMA Quebec.
