During a vacation in Croatia, Eddy Vorperian, a charismatic aviator, cherished friend, and devoted husband, died suddenly of a heart attack. Eddy will be remembered by all who knew him with great affection for his infectious laughter, deep connections, and love of exploration.

As a gate agent for Air Canada in his late teens, Eddy quickly earned the respect of passengers and colleagues with his commitment and friendliness. However, his aspirations extended beyond the airport terminal. With a strong will and an unyielding spirit, Eddy achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a commercial pilot. Initially, he worked for small specialized airlines serving the northernmost points of Canada. Still, he finally won a captain's chair at Air Transat in June 2015 and served with dedication until his untimely death.

Despite Eddy's impressive professional accomplishments, his passion for life truly defined him. He was a passionate traveler who enjoyed discovering new places, immersing himself in foreign cultures, and trying unfamiliar foods. Often punctuated with a punchline, his stories are as legendary as the adventures that inspired them.

Eddy was known for his ability to form deep, lasting relationships beyond his larger-than-life persona. A steadfast friend, he instantly connected with everyone he met through his humor and joy. His infectious smile made strangers feel at ease and turned strangers into friends.

In the final chapter of his life, he found a deep and fulfilling love with his wife, Becky. Even though their marriage lasted less than one year, it was filled with immense love, mutual support, and joy. Though their 5-year journey was brief, Eddy and Becky's love was profound, deep, and deeply meaningful.

The untimely passing of Eddy has left an irreplaceable void for his father Assadour, wife Becky, family, friends and co-workers. His spirit will continue to live on through the laughter he spread, the stories he told, and shared with everyone.

The family will receive condolences at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Qc On Friday May 19th 2023 from 4 to 5:30 followed by eulogies at 5:30.

For those who wish to join the family virtually to attend the eulogies, we invite you to use our Livestream Platform using the following link: https://fweb.tv/101922

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to https://playaanimalrescue.org/ in Eddy's name.
