It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Eithne (Etna) Fitzpatrick at the age of 82. Eithne was born in Ballina Co. Mayo Ireland. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Gemma (Harold), Winifred (Don) and June (John) and by all her cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada, Ireland and Australia as well as by all those who were fortunate to know and love her. Eithne was predeceased by her brother Eamonn (Ita).
Eithne trained as a nurse in Dublin and moved to Montreal, Canada in 1973.
After completing a Bachelor of Arts degree at Sir George Williams University (Concordia University) she moved to Vancouver where she worked in administration at the Vancouver General Hospital.
Eithne had a lifelong love of nature. As a child, she spent happy summers in Enniscrone, Co. Sligo and in her retirement, she settled in White Rock BC where she enjoyed the scenic beauty of Canada’s West Coast before moving closer to family in Deux-Montagnes, QC in 2022.
She was a talented pianist and loved classical music.
Many thanks to her medical team at the Montreal Neuro in particular to Dr. Postuma, Dr. Sadikot and Dr. Panisset.
In Eithne’s memory, donations to Parkinson Canada would be greatly appreciated.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
