Elizabeth (Betty) Alderson (nee Davidson), died peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2024, at VIGI Sante Dollard-des-Ormeaux in Quebec
Predeceased by her loving companion Robert (Bob) Sargent. Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by her children David (The late Syndi and the late Jennine), Cheryl (Ian) Braunstein, her grandchildren Maude and Isaac Braunstein, Michelle Alderson and Alex (May-Leena) Alderson, and great grandchildren Joey, Lillian, AJ, Cade, Cole.
Elizabeth was the daughter of Alexander Davidson and Maude Mullan, born in Hudson, Quebec, May 22, 1933
She was past president of both the Hudson and NDG Legion and served in the Royal Canadian Navy. She was a fiercely independent woman, who raised her family on her own, taught them kindness and empathy, and lived a life of service to her community.
Elizabeth was a wonderful singer and sang for many years in the Wyman Church Choir.
Remarkably and sadly, she lived her last 20 years with Alzheimer’s, a disease that needs a cure. Although this disease took so much from her and all of us, her life’s impact and her loss, will be felt by the generations that follow.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Alzheimer Canada in her loving memory.
A visitation will be held Friday Dec 13, 2024 from 4-6PM, at Rideau Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4239 Sources Blvd, Dollard-Des Ormeaux, QC H9B 2A6. Due to the frozen grounds burial will now take place in the springtime.
