LEWZEY, Elizabeth Frances - passed away on Dec 27th 2025, after a two year battle with aggressive uterine cancer.
Diagnosed in January of 2024, we thought we would lose her that summer, but a semi-miraculous surgery gave her another year of life in relative comfort.
She tried to fill that year with as much life and joy as her treatments would permit, even going to Prince Edward Island in August for a family vacation.
As the autumn wore on, the treatments were no longer effective, and outings were replaced by visits from family and friends.
Late November saw us preparing to be housebound, and mid-December found her bed-ridden, cared for lovingly by her close family.
Lately the pain had become too much and constant. She chose to say her goodbyes and be put in a coma on Dec 23rd, at home with her family around her.
Elizabeth left us, sleeping peacefully, on Dec 27th.
She will be remembered for her single-mindedness in whatever she undertook, and her infinite capacity to love.
She is survived by her husband (and high-school sweetheart) Ken, their children Zachary and Roxanne, sister Pauline (Wolfgang, Danika, Halley), brother Brian (Linda, Jennifer, Helen), sister Donna (Harrison), brother Robert (Marlene, Ryan).
She will also be missed by Ken's family, sister Donna (Michel, J.-P., Mykael), and brother Alfred Lawrence (Jennifer, Amelia, Madilyn), and a multitude of fast friends too numerous to mention.
A celebration of her life will be planned for the spring of 2026, the details of which will be forwarded to anyone who wishes to leave contact details, they will also be added to this memorial site when finalized.
