In Loving Memory of Ernest Goodridge
May 29, 1933 – August 25, 2025.

With love and gratitude to God for his life, we announce the passing of our dear dad, Ernest Goodridge.
He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle with dementia and, more recently, metastasized prostate cancer.

Born in Barbados, his life’s journey took him to the UK and eventually to Montreal, Quebec—each step marked by his deep faith in God, love of family, strong work ethic, perseverance, and resilience. He was an electrician by trade, a small business owner for several years, and built a successful 40-year career at the Douglas Hospital in Montreal.

Some of his proudest experiences included serving his local church while living in Barbados, England, and Montreal, and building a family home in Barbados, where he and his beloved wife spent many joyful winters together. Throughout their 70 years of marriage, their unconditional love for each other helped them weather many storms.

Dad will be deeply missed by us—his 8 children, 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren—and by all who were touched by his life.

A heartfelt thank you from our family. We are filled with gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and unwavering support from our friends, extended family, and Transformation Church in Pierrefonds. We are especially thankful to the extraordinary staff and volunteers at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence in Kirkland. The kindness and tireless care they provided brought comfort not only to Dad but also peace to all of us.

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." — Revelation 21:4

Donation considerations can be sent to:
**Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence in Kirkland:
https://residencesoinspalliatifs.ca

**Transformation Church Montreal:
https://transformationchurchpierrefonds.ca
