It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Esperanza Quiambao Botardo, on Tuesday November 3rd, at Honore Mercier Hospital in St. Hyacinthe, at the age of 73.

She was the loving wife of Ruben Botardo, with whom she shared her life for almost 52 years. She will be greatly missed by her children Merry Joie (Jay) and Joseph (Melanie). She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Jordan, Justin, Jessica, Madison and Alyssa. She also leaves behind her brothers Jose (Amelia), Wilfred and sister Amanda, nephews and nieces as well many other family and friends.

She was devoted to her family and friends and always welcomed everyone with open arms. She was well known for her great food and generosity. She had many hobbies but her favorite pass time was playing mahjong with friends and family.

We would like to thank the amazing staff of the ICU unit of the Honore Mercier Hospital for their care and compassion. We are so thankful for their daily updates, when we were restricted to be at the hospital and their amazing care and support for Esperanza, up to and until her last days.

PLEASE NOTE: Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the family understands that not everyone will be comfortable attending. Visitations will be limited to 24 people for a period of 15 minutes in rotation (with required masks and social distancing).

Relatives and friends who are comfortable doing so in person may pay their respects at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 boul. Des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux on Sunday, November 15th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 pm and 6:00pm to 9:00 pm.
Due to the restriction, the ceremony will be attended by immediate family only. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

The event will be livestreamed on Tuesday, November 17 at 1pm.
