<div itemprop="description">In Loving Memory of Esther Lavetia Greaves <br> <br>With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Esther Lavetia Greaves, who departed this life on January 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. <br> <br>Born in Barbados on March 23, 1939, Esther immigrated to Canada in 1961. She built a life defined by hard work and a profound sense of service. For 41 years, Esther was a dedicated employee in the department of nursing at the Royal Victoria Hospital, serving until her retirement. Beyond her career, Esther’s life was rooted in her deep faith as a devoted member of the Church of Sts. Cuthbert, Hilda & Luke. <br> <br>She was loved by her family and was always involved and supportive. <br> <br>Esther was the daughter of the late Elon and Ira Greaves. She was predeceased by her siblings Evelyn (Francilia), Rensford (Lottice), Gloria, Dulcie (Sherlan, deceased), and Mavis Rollock Yearwood. She is survived and deeply missed by her siblings Norma (George, deceased), Mildred, Morgan (Perlene), Michael (Sandra), Maurice (Marcia), Oliver (Marion), and David (Patrene), Dorothy, Evadney and Christopher (Audrey). She was a beloved relative to the Boyce, Cummins, and Bowen families. She was a cherished aunt to Susanne, Wayne and Francine, and many nieces and nephews in Canada, Barbados, England, France and the USA. As a blended family, she was loved and cherished by all. <br> <br>Service Details: The family invites you to a celebration of life on January 31, 2026, at Rideau Funeral Home & Cemetery (4239 Sources Blvd, Dollard-Des-Ormeaux). <br> <br>· Visitation: 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. <br> <br>· Service: 11:30 a.m. <br> <br>· Interment: To follow at Rideau Cemetery. <br> <br>The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Institute de Réadaptation Gingras-Lindsay-de-Montréal, Royal Victoria Hospital, Ressource de la Montagne and Father Dowd Residential Centre, and also to Reverend Roslyn Macgregor and Reverend Dorothy Samuel for their pastoral care.</div>
