It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Euclid Sylvester Rice, who peacefully left us, surrounded by his family, on February 6, 2026, after a lengthy illness. Born October 15, 1935 in Saint James, Barbados, he was a cherished spouse, parent, grandparent, sibling, uncle, and friend.
Euclid was predeceased by Cora, his devoted wife of 53 years, and he will be dearly missed by his loving children Sonia (Felix), Andy (Jackie), and Peter (Karen), his adored grandchildren Pape, Kérima, Quincy, Nicolas, Kristan, Nyah, Noah, and Leah. He also leaves to mourn his sister Noreen, of Saint James, Barbados, numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of other relatives and friends.
Known for his kindness, warmth, generosity and infectious laughter, Euclid touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a mean cricketer and tennis player, he loved to dance, and he will always be remembered for his witty sense of humour. He was also a sharp dresser and skilled accountant; his calculator and general ledger were never far from his side.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of the CHSLD Vigi Pierrefonds for their dedicated care and compassion these past 3 years.
The family will receive condolences and a celebration of life will take place at Rideau Funeral Home, located at 4275 Sources Boulevard, Dollard-des-Ormeaux (Quebec) H9B 2A6, on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, and a small reception will be held afterwards. For family and friends who are unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed at https://fweb.tv/238997.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Euclid's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
