<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fernando Oliveira on March 10, 2024 in Montreal, at the age of 90. <br> <br>He will be deeply missed by his wife of 70 years, Helena, his daughter-in-law Dulce, his two grand-daughters Sandra and Claudia, as well as their respective spouses, Eric and Simon and their children, Alexandre, Tristan, Leyla and Anthony. He will also be missed by many more relatives and friends both in Canada, in England and in Portugal, his homeland. <br> <br>He grew up in Lisbon, Portugal and came to Canada in 1967, looking for opportunities for his family, including his only son Julio. <br> <br>A lover of life, hardworking, Portuguese food and “pastéis de nata” enthusiast, he will also be remembered for his passion for soccer (the Benfica team), his fondness of fishing with friends and his strong affection for animals, especially dogs. <br> <br>We will never forget his love of family and his unique ability to connect with children. <br> <br>His absence, alongside the absence of his dear son Julio, will forever be felt by our family until the day that we are all reunited again. <br> <br>We would like to thank the staff at the Lakeshore Hospital for the kindness and care they showed towards our beloved Nana. <br> <br>Our family will receive condolences at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Boul des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, on March 23, 2024 from 9:30am-11:30am. Eulogies will take place from 11:30am-12:30pm. The interment will then follow at 1:00pm. <br> <br>__________ <br> <br> <br>É com saudade e tristeza que anunciamos o falecimento de Fernando Oliveira, no dia 10 de março de 2024 em Montreal, aos 90 anos. <br> <br>Sua falta será profundamente sentida por sua esposa Helena, com a qual partilhou a vida durante 70 anos; sua nora Dulce, suas duas netas Sandra e Claudia, bem como seus respetivos cônjuges Eric e Simon e seus filhos, Alexandre, Tristan, Leyla e Anthony. A sua falta também será sentida por muitos mais familiares e amigos, tanto no Canadá, como na Inglaterra e Portugal, a sua terra natal. <br> <br>Cresceu em Lisboa, Portugal e veio para o Canadá em 1967, em busca de oportunidades para sua família, incluindo seu único filho, Júlio. <br> <br>Amante da vida, trabalhador, apreciador dos pastéis de nata e da boa comida portuguesa, será também lembrado pela sua paixão pelo futebol - “Benfica” -, pesca com os amigos, animais, especialmente cães. <br> <br>Nunca esqueceremos seu amor pela família e sua ligação única com as crianças. <br> <br>Sua ausência, juntamente com a ausência de seu querido filho Júlio, serão sentidas para sempre por nossa família até o dia em que todos estejamos novamente reunidos. <br> <br>Gostaríamos de agradecer à equipa do Hospital Lakeshore pela gentileza e carinho que demonstraram para com nosso querido Nana. <br> <br>Nossa família receberá condolências no dia 23 de Março de 2024, pelas 9:30 na casa funerária Rideau Memorial, 4275 Boul des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux; seguirá uma celebração de vida às 11:30 e o enterro por volta das 13 horas.</div>
