It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fernando Ramirez, who peacefully left us on March 23, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on September 10, 1946, in Caracas, Venezuela, Fernando carried with him a deep love for his roots, his culture, and—above all—his family.

Fernando was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a deeply loving grandfather whose greatest joy in life was the time he spent surrounded by those he loved. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mariela Johnson; his children, Fernando Luis, Stephanie, and Alexandra, along with their spouses; and his treasured grandchildren, Isabel, Katherine, Carolina, Julian, Cruz, and Amaya, who brought endless pride and happiness to his life. He also leaves behind many relatives and dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Those who knew Fernando will remember not only his kindness and warmth, but the way he made people feel—welcomed, cared for, and at home. He had a remarkable gift for bringing people together, often around a table filled with food he prepared himself. As an exceptional chef, he expressed his love through cooking, creating meals that became cherished moments and lasting memories for his family.

Fernando also found joy in music and movies, passions that filled his home with life, laughter, and connection. Whether sharing a favorite song, watching a beloved film, or simply enjoying time together, he created a sense of comfort and belonging that will never be forgotten.

Though his passing leaves a space that can never be filled, his love, his traditions, and his spirit will live on through his family and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy is one of love, generosity, and togetherness.

A celebration of his life will take place at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, located at 1020 Laird Boulevard, Mont-Royal, Quebec, on April 25 at 11:00 a.m.
