It is with heavy heart, that we announce the passing of Felix Matellano, who peacefully left us on February 29, 2024. Born on September 30, 1937, he leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, resilience, joie de vivre and countless cherished memories.

Felix will be fondly remembered by his adoring children, Nancy and Susan, their partners Duane and Serge, his beloved grandchildren Jonathan (Maja), David, Sarah (Anthony), Karina, Mathieu, Mikayla and great grandson Myles. He will be dearly missed by his cherished life companion, Ellie Leebosh, his bonus children Jason (Angie) and Tami (Carl) and bonus grandchildren Noah, Elizabeth and Addie. Also, fondly remembered by his former partner Carmen Mendez, his niece Alma and precious friends and family. He is predeceased by his sister, Rosa.

Known for his integrity, genuine kindness, warmth and compassion, Felix touched the lives of all who knew him and those he informally met, by making light of every situation and finding humour in it. He had a gift of boosting people’s confidence, finding solutions, repairing or improving anything that needed fixing and was best at preserving not only material possessions but most importantly, his friendships. He always chose the right way, not necessarily the easy way, and instilled that principle along with a great work ethic, onto his children and grandchildren. He loved his garden, adventure, travel, dancing, food and wine. He will be forever remembered for his willingness to help others in anyway he could and for his great zest for life!

Visitation will be held at Rideau Funeral Home, situated at 4275 Sources Boulevard in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Montreal (Quebec) H9B 2A6, on March 16th at 2 pm, followed by eulogies at 3 pm. For those unable to attend in person, live streaming will be available at https://fweb.tv/119205.

In lieu of flowers, we would be pleased to accept donations to the “Felix Matellano Memorial Fund for Hope and Cope”, at the Jewish General Hospital, which will benefit and have a profound impact on the lives many of patients/families of today and tomorrow.
