Frances Maureen (Dorman) Rayson passed away peacefully at home in Pointe Claire, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at the age of 94. Fran, Fuzzy, Mom, Nanny, Super-Nanny was very much loved by her 6 children and their partners, 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and her large extended family.

Born in Montreal, Frances spent many years on the Island, in St. Andrew’s East, in Longueil, but she raised her family in Pointe Claire and lived most of her life there. The last seven years she lived with and was lovingly cared for by her daughter Sharon and for that we are forever grateful. She was an active member of St. Augustine’s Church, and St. Timothy’s. She was a die-hard Habs fan, and in recent years, also the Blue Jays. Both teams will miss her “couch coaching”.

She was pre-deceased by her husband John Rayson and her daughter Laurie-Jean Catherine Smith. She will be greatly missed by her sister Ruth, her children Deb (Randy, Dave) Sharon (Edouard), Lynda (Obby), late Laurie-Jean (Russ), John (Susanne), Wendy (late Bill), her grandchildren Tye (Aly), Jason (Sophie), Stephanie, Danièle (Mathew), Jessica (Mark), Jeremy (Katlynn), Jackie (Colson), Adrianna, John (Emilie), Robert, Michael (Caitlin), Emma (Bradley), William, Matt (Ashley) and Christopher and her great-grandchildren Lex, Charlotte, Elliott, Emelia, Aubrie, Arlo, Paisley, Bennett and Brooks.

In recent months, Mom spoke mostly about her childhood, her parents, and her siblings. She often said she wanted to go home, she was ready.

Much thanks to the CLSC Lac St Louis and Nova Palliative Care teams, and to her friends whose many calls and visits meant so much.

The family will celebrate her life in a ceremony at Rideau Gardens in the Spring 2026 where she will be lovingly interred beside her husband John.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to your favourite charity.
