<div itemprop="description">Francis Chui Yew Cheong, 69, peacefully passed away on January 21st, 2020, after a 5-month battle with cancer. Francis is survived by his wife Nita of 41 years, son Nicolas and his wife Sofia, daughter Melanie and her husband Ronan, grandchildren William, Adrien, Jonathan, Thomas, Charlotte, and Dylan, mother-in-law Kwok Po, brothers John and Alphonse, sisters Tham, Anne, Patricia, and Christine, along with many nieces, nephews, brothers in law, sisters in law, and a large extended family. Francis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to everyone. <br> <br>Francis was born on December 6th, 1950, in Curepipe, Mauritius, and was the 7th of 9 children. At the age of 20, Francis left Mauritius to study accountancy in London, where he met Nita, the love of his life. They got married in England and shortly thereafter immigrated to Canada, where some family members were already settled. He founded his family here in Montreal and Canada became his new home. <br> <br>Francis enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved playing soccer, tennis, and golf, and being active at the gym or in the swimming pool. He loved singing, dancing and playing music and hanging out with his friends over dinners and at social parties. The last five years of his life were spent traveling around the world with Nita to countries like Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, Hawaii, Japan, and India, going on regular golf trips to Florida, returning to see family in Mauritius, and spending lots of quality time with his kids and grandchildren in Montreal. <br> <br>He will be dearly missed and may he rest in peace. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Cedars Cancer Foundation: www.cedars.ca</div>
