<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Franco Farina, on March, 11th, 2025, at the age of 70. <br> <br>Predeceased by his parents Cosimo and Lillian Farina, Franco leaves behind his loving wife Mary Paternostro. He was a beloved and dedicated father, and he will be fondly remembered by his children Adriano (Alessandra), and Sasha (Marlee). <br> <br>He also leaves behind his brother and sisters, Marisa (Angelo), Claudio (Sylvia) and Gina (Luigi) and his brother-in-law Joe (Joan). As well as many other family and friends. <br> <br>Franco was a brilliant and hardworking man who poured his love, passion, and ambition into everything he did. He had a deep appreciation for sports, food, and fashion, but above all, he cherished the time spent with his family. His natural warmth and charisma made him a joy to be around, lighting up every room with laughter and joy. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love and light he brought into the lives of so many. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and son. <br> <br>Franco touched the lives of many, not only through his kindness and generosity, but also through his dedication to helping others. In the 1990s, he rebuilt homes for families in Florida who had lost everything to a devastating hurricane, a testament to his selflessness and compassion. He deeply valued education and took immense pride in ensuring that his children had the opportunity to learn, grow, and find happiness—something he undoubtedly achieved. <br> <br>Even in the face of cancer, Franco showed tremendous bravery. He fought with everything he had, and his resilience, courage, and spirit will forever be a source of inspiration to all who knew him. <br>Special thanks to the Oncology, Urology and Internal Medicine department at the MUHC Glen Hospital. Special thanks given to Dr. Saleh, Dr. Moria and Dr. Kassouf. <br> <br>Please join our family in celebrating Franco’s life on Wednesday March 19th, 2025, at Rideau Funeral Home and Cemetery- 4275 Blvd Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux QC H9B 2A6, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on March 20th, 2025, at Our Lady of La Difesa Church (6800 Henri-Julien Ave, Montreal Qc H2S 2V4) at 11:00 AM followed by burial at Rideau Funeral Home and Cemetery. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Franco’s memory to Bladder Cancer Canada (Research) at Donate Now | Bladder Cancer Canada.
