It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Caroline Anna Frehner on August 30, 2026, at Lachine Hospital in Montreal. She was the beloved daughter of the late Doreen Frehner (née Newark) and the late George Frehner, dear big sister to George William Frehner (Denise Gorman) and Paul Frehner (Susanne Murphy). Caroline will be missed by her nieces and nephews Alex, Steven, Katie, Jackie, Ingrid, Amalie, Justin, Kevin and Meghan. Her good friends, the Kling family (Erika, Christine and Ennio, Toni and David) will also fondly remember her.

A natural beauty, Carol always had flair and style. She enjoyed a good novel, listening to classic rock, and spending time with family. She was interested in family genealogy and was her Mum Doreen’s right hand when it came to typing up Mum’s book of poetry and helping compile family photo albums.

Carol was fiercely independent, a proponent of hitchhiking and exploring her city on foot. She will be remembered for her husky laugh, wry humor and for always speaking her mind.

In the last decade, Carol suffered from dementia but remained stoic in the face of its physical and mental challenges. We are grateful to all the caregivers who worked to care for her at Château Dollard and through Customized Homecare in the last few years.

A visitation will take place at Rideau Funeral Home on Saturday, September 12th from 12:30 to 1:30pm, to be followed by a funeral service at 1:30pm and burial at 2:30pm.
