It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Gérald Thériault, beloved husband (33 years) of Angelika Witzmann. Gérald departed this life peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at Tracadie Hospital in New Brunswick on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the age of 63.

Born on September 29, 1962, he was the son of Flora Landry and the late François Thériault. Originally from Val Doucet, New Brunswick he resided in Montreal where he built a life for himself, his wife, and their four children.

A devoted husband, an incredible father, and a proud family man. He was truly a jack of all trades and always ready to help, to build, and to create, leaving behind a legacy of care and craftsmanship in all the lives of those who had the honour of knowing him. His hands shaped homes, and his heart shaped lives. Gérald was a hard worker with a kind and generous soul; a man that set the bar high for the rest of the world. But his greatest journey was the one he shared with his wife, his partner, his compass, and his greatest source of strength and guidance, Angelika. He found joy in travel, pride in his work, and love in every moment shared with his family. Truly a rare gem of this world.. a perfect man gone too soon, but forever in our hearts.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Angelika, his mother Flora, and his four sons: Stefan (Vanessa), Jonathan (Rebecca), Justin (Patricia), and Nicholas. He also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Arya, Lilith, Zamora, Xedric and Jethro. Gérald is also survived by his siblings: Suzanne (Dale), Yvon (Ginette), Donat (Francine), Onile (Rolande), Sylvia, Rina (Jacques), Ella, Yvonne, Serge (Joanne), and Line (Daniel); his sister-in-law Claire (late Alphé); his godson Jérôme; as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father François, his sister Edna and his brother Alphé.

Visitation will be held at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 boul. Des Sources, Dollard-Des-Ormeaux, Qc, H9B 2A6 on Saturday November 29 between 12:00 and 14:00. A private burial will follow at a later date.
