With profound sadness, we announce that Giovanni Antonio Sabelli, 69, passed away with grace on February 16th, 2024, at home in Montreal in the arms of the love of his life, his wife Alice, surrounded by family and friends.

As a husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, John was a force that bettered the lives of those he loved. He gave himself entirely to what he was passionate about, and nothing was more important than la famiglia.

John was a self-made man, whether through his entrepreneurial endeavors or with his insatiable appetite for knowledge. Throughout his life, he was immensely curious about the natural world, constantly inquiring and exploring to learn more about people, places, and animals. He brought light to every room and his presence will be missed.

John fought pancreatic cancer with dignity, and his family would like to express their gratitude to the respectful health professionals who cared for him with compassion from the CLSC Pierrefonds, Nova West Island and Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur-de-Montréal.

The family kindly requests donations be made in John's name to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care.

While we grieve John's passing, we are also filled with gratitude and appreciation for the time we shared with him. Join us for a funeral service in John's honor on March 16th at Rideau Funeral Home, where we will celebrate his life. If you are unable to join us in-person, the livestream of the funeral link is here: https://fweb.tv/118493

May he rest in peace, and may his spirit continue to inspire us to live with the same passion, love, and joy that defined John's remarkable journey on this earth.
