Gloria Lourenço King
May 6, 1923 - June 7, 2020
KING, Gloria (Lourenco)
May 6, 1923 - June 7, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of
Gloria King announces her passing
after complications due to Covid-19 at
the age of 97 years old. She was born
and raised in Trinidad, BWI. Gloria was
the cherished wife of the late Paul King
(1993). She will be tremendously
missed by her loving children Kevin,
Kathy (Kerry),Carolyn (Mike), Pauline
(Michael), her adored grandchildren
Christina (Tony), Sarah, Jennifer,
Amanda (Francisco), Kerry (Thomas),
Christopher (Kristin), Patrick, Daniel,
Christopher Robin (Chloe), great
grandchildren, Landon, Dylan, Willow,
Adeline, Sia and Sky. She will be sadly
missed by her sister Dora Pickrell, her
sister-in-law Dolores Lourenco and her
many nieces and nephews.
Gloria was known for her quick wit, her
giving nature and her love of family.
She was an avid reader and wickedly
smart. Her grasp of the English
language would transform any essay
into a flawless work of art. She loved
McDonalds, fresh flowers, the British
royal family and knowing the weather.
She hated mice and squirrels with a
passion. In the last four years Gloria
was living in a seniors' residence and
had visitors every day. She especially
loved her great grandchildren's weekly
performances in her room. She was
known to dance at every wedding to the
song "Gloria".
The family would like to thank a very
special friend, Myrna Reasbeck for her
unconditional devotion and love for Glo
and her niece Karen Brennan for her
love, support and family updates.
Special thanks to Manon, Delilah and
Angel from the CHSLD Lachine, for
their care, patience, understanding and
endless compassion for Miss Gloria.
She was affectionately known as "Glo"
and she will always glow in our hearts.
Due to current circumstances a
memorial service will be held at a later
date.
Expressions of sympathy may be given
