Gloria Anne Melville (née Stanley), born on July 29th, 1940 in Montreal, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 28th.

Gloria was a true life-partner to her husband Bill throughout their 57 wonderful years of marriage, and they were "two peas in a pod" for all their time together. Gloria was a caring and devoted mother to her two boys, and an awesome grandmother to her four grandchildren. Gloria was the eldest of five children, was their big sister, and loved them all dearly.

"a curler, not really; a golfer, maybe; a quilter, forever"

Gloria loved skating and played ringette, she would get her baseball glove and throw the ball with her boys, she curled, and she golfed for many years. Gloria always enjoyed having her sons invite their friends over - she loved a "noisy house". Gloria truly loved to quilt and made countless beautiful quilts over the years, including fantastic quilts for her sons, daughters-in laws and all her grandchildren.

Beloved wife of Bill Melville, loving mother of Jim (Sandy) and Don (Lara), caring grandmother of Alexis, Kate, Justin and Finnley, and beloved sister of Bill, Tom (deceased), Carleen, and Brian, Gloria will be greatly missed.
The family would like to sincerely thank everyone at the Manoir Beaconsfield for all the care, love and attention they have given Gloria for the past 4 years. Words cannot express how thankful we are.

A celebration of Gloria's life will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada are welcome.
