<div itemprop="description">Gordon passed away peacefully at the age of 101. <br> <br>Born in Cambridge Ontario, he was a WW2 veteran who first saw action at Dieppe, then during the Italian campaign and the liberation of Holland, and finally Germany. He drove a tank with the Calgary Tank Regiment. His older brother George was killed during the Italian campaign. <br> <br>Gordon recently became a knight of the Legion of Honour for France. A graduate of both Western and Queen’s university, he retired as chief economist at CIL, and continued to do consultation. He was a founding member of the Montreal Economics Association and was active in several investment clubs. He enjoyed alpine skiing. <br> <br>Gordon was a loyal family man. Predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Joyce. They are reunited now. <br> <br>Predeceased by his parents, Ellen and George Fennell, and his sister May. Survived by his younger brother Dave. He leaves behind his sons, Keith (Amber) and Leigh, 6 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. <br> <br>We are grateful for the kind staff at Saint Anne’s Veterans Hospital. <br> <br>He shall be missed. <br> <br>The family will receive condolences at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 des Sources, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, on Saturday January 13th 2024 from 1 pm to 3 pm. <br> <br></div>
