<div itemprop="description"><br>It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debra Séguin, who peacefully left us on June 21, 2026. Born on April 3rd, 1960, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sibling, friend and parishioner. <br> <br>Debra will be dearly missed by her beloved husband, Butch Olavi Alanko, her loving children Stewart and Sara Alanko, her daughter-in-law Sarah Common, and her four cherished grandsons Noah and Ezra McCausland, Sara's sons, and Miles and Westley Alanko, Stewart's sons. She also leaves behind her dear siblings Joyce Certosini (and Joyce’s husband, Tony Certosini), David Séguin, and Susan Séguin, as well as a multitude of relatives and friends. <br> <br>Debra graduated from John Abbott nursing school in 1980 and dedicated her career to helpful others for 35 years. Known for her thoughtfulness, recipes, kind spirit, and infectious laughter, Debra touched the lives of all who knew her. She will forever be remembered for her loving devotion to her family and communities (Church, Bible Study and Rug Hooking). <br> <br>She is now peacefully reunited in eternity with those who passed before her, including her beloved parents, John Séguin and Tilley Manuel Séguin, her sister Jo-Anne Ring and her brother Douglas Shaughnessy. Together again, they rest in love. <br> <br>A memorial service will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, located at 413 Rue Main, Hudson, QC J0P 1H0 on Tuesday, June 30th gathering at 1pm, with the service beginning at 2pm. Following the service, family and friends are warmly invited to gather and continue celebrating Debra’s life at the home of her son, Stewart Alanko.</div>
