It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Harriet Shugar, who left us far too soon at the age of 66.

She is survived by her devoted husband Richard Schanck, as well as her beloved cats, whom she considered full-fledged members of the family. She also leaves behind many close relatives and dear friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

She was a strong and determined woman who faced her illness with remarkable courage throughout the years. Adventurous and bold, she traveled the world with curiosity and fearlessness, discovering its beauty through a unique lens and collecting countless memorable stories along the way. Harriet loved meeting new people and forging meaningful connections, yet she was equally a passionate animal lover, especially of cats and horses, which she admired deeply.

The family will receive condolences on Friday, February 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Rideau Funeral Home ( 4275, Boul Des Source, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Qc H9B 2A6).
