<div itemprop="description">On January 04, 2020, after a short illness, Harry Percy Hardy Grigsby, loving husband of the late Eleanor K. Grigsby (neé Morgan) passed away at the Lakeshore General Hospital at the age of 98. <br> <br>Born and raised in Lachine, QC., he served as a Flight Officer with the RCAF’s 104 Squadron. Seconded to the RAF, he flew missions ranging across the Mediterranean, North and South Africa, India and the Middle East. On his return to Canada, he married Eleanor in Calgary in November of 1945 and shortly after, took up studies in chemical engineering at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. <br> <br>He joined Abbott Laboratories Canada in Montreal in 1950, and over a 33-year career rose to the position of Director of Production and Operations Manager with the company. He was also active in various community organizations, including the Boy Scouts of Canada, the Kinsmen, his churches (St. Stephen’s in Lachine, St. John the Baptist in Pointe Claire) and alongside Eleanor, sang with the St. Lawrence choir for several years. <br>He will be sadly missed by his children Wayne (Barbara), Keith and Lorne (Jeanette), his grandchildren Daniel (Jennie) and Patrick (Georgia); Alexandre (Amy) and Sarah; Julian (Katerina) and Samantha; and by his great-grandchildren Harriet and Kalina and her brothers Tony and Christoph. <br> <br>A celebration of Harry’s life will be held at Rideau Funeral Home on Sunday, January 19, 2020, from 2 pm to 5 pm. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the West Island Palliative Care Residence or a charity of your choice. <br> <br>The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Sunrise of Beaconsfield for the care and support Harry received these past two years. He especially enjoyed the ice cream. <br> <br></div>
